Edge Color on Business Card

I was talking to a printer recently and apparently they paint a thin layer of glue on the edge first to stop the ink or paint bleeding into the card.

<p>You can try and do it yourself, but I guarantee you won't like the results and you will ruin the cards. Better to let someone who has done it before, do it for you. Some cards can be VERY expensive, you wouldn't want the edges to be the element that ruins the cards. It's usually the last step in finishing business cards. The end user does have to take into consideration that there will be quite a bit of scrap when there are so many finishing options. Painted edges usually produce about 10% waste. For most, it's well worth it.</p>
