doesnt Tweetdeck incorporate most of this functionality already ?
- I find it the UI a lot nicer with Brizzly. Seeing pics in line, and the "Mute" function is quite helpfulBeeachboy

Looks interesting, but I wonder if there is room for these kinds of companies.
What would stop Twitter from just looking at what Brizzly did and copying the best parts?

@ukit I guess the plan is to also incorporate Facebook and Myspace into the fold sometime soon as well.
I think there's room for all sorts of companies, even the smaller ones. As long as you can stay lean and be smart about your expenses I say go for it.
I think most of the interesting stuff coming out these days is from the smaller companies. I myself am a huge proponent of that model. Shit, I run a software company with only 2 full time people, and a hand full of contractors when necessary.

no I'm not knocking small companies - I've been (and am) involved in stuff like this. I was thinking more of companies that are built on the back of Twitter and other social media sites specifically.
I guess you could point to Friendfeed as an example of one that did succeed and was bought. On the other hand, you've got sites like Streamy, which launched a couple months back and seemed to be really well executed, but didn't really take off as far as I can tell.
- yeah i'm interested to see where it goes personally...sublocked
