recently did one on my imac g5. was using 10.4.11 but now it's reset to 10.4.2 and I can't install the combined update to bring everything current. (using software update, I try and install the update but it says that it might be altered from apple, so I get it of their site manually and it still won't install. some software won't work, (itunes, and video in safari–they need the update I guess.
Has anyone had to deal with this? How did you get past it? Any suggestions would greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Tip: If you download a manual Mac OS X Update installer but are unable to install it (because Installer application doesn't work), try dragging the installation package file (.pkg) on top of the Installer application. It is located in the Utilities folder, which is in the Applications folder (/Applications/Utilities/). For other tips, see this document.
