I'm looking to purchase a light kit.
Wondering if any one has any recommendations or any info of what to or what not to buy.Until now I've primarily used 2 different kits
one which is ancient and I am uncertain of the brand the other was photogenic brand. Both are 2 light kits - both have umbrellas - one also has light boxes. I'm curious about if I should get a set with a 3rd light just to help with hair lighting / etc.thanks

What are you shooting? How much do you want to spend?
I've always like Dyna lights and Pro Foto.

Have you checked out Alien Bee?
If your on a budget they make a decent light.

I found the 3rd light really helpful.
i paid about $200 for the whole kit, haven't had any problems. yet.
3 tripods, 3 lights, 2 umbrellas, 1 barn doors.

in studio mainly people - though i sometimes have needed to transport the lights somewhere that im shooting but i always have power access rarely have i been in the complete wilderness though i could see shooting in some places and not having power so i may want the option to hookup to a battery pack in the future or something like that im looking for different price ranges something in the 500 / 1000 and 1500 brackets
