Finally moved up to CS4 and notice that soft returns are being kept when building a table of contents. What gives?

Still have nothing. Any help offered would be appreciated greatly.

Perhaps you could clarify your question. I'm not quite sure what your problem is.

I setup a Table of Contents Style that references a header paragraph style throughout a book. Some of those text boxes that are being referenced have soft returns in place to improve formatting making the header of a section 2/3 lines at times but I don't want those soft returns to carry over to the table of contents where each section header would stay on one line ideally. This was automatic in CS3 and now I am stumped.

how bigs the table of contents? i could remove loads in about 1minute manually - quicker than bothering to post on here?

Quite a few actually. This is a pretty common occurrence for me when setting up documents and it would sure be nice to know how to set it up properly. Don't like losing functionality.
