New client we are starting work with shortly.
That's right though, I'm lazy!
No, I just have like no frickin' extra time right now, and would like some thoughts and/or dialogue on this to look at when I get home tonight.
Looking at the eCommerce and UI/UX of the site, there are some definite issues (not very forgiving, can't even use your Back button).
Do you think it's bad to put the price up front like that?
The lack of an information hierarchy is pretty apparent too.
And yes – unfortunately, they are completely in love with their logo.

That picture of the hamburger made me instantly hungry

ugly, text is everywhere. good to see bill curtis doing well. I have a friend who worked at a catering company where he came in every day for lunch. someone told curtis that he was a huge fan so he brought him a book with "to mike, a real explorer-bill curtis" signed in it.

damn... that site just made me hungry.
which its good I suppose.

One thing I can say right now, before reviewing this massive document I was just handed a few minutes ago about the client, is I know they are shifting from B2C into a B2B model, in attempt to mimic the success that Boar's Head achieved in doing this. Cultivating brand trust through wide-spread distribution, then slowly targeting audiences over time.
- thats a good idea. Too bad the logo is shite and people wont realate to it.baseline_shift

wow, going throught the sub pages, there is a TON of useless copy. All those words undid all the positive the greasy burger shot added.

competition:
http://www.omahasteaks.com- Yah, our boss keeps mentioning them. They are the gold standard, but I don't really like it.dMullins

from the site:
Here at Tallgrass, our cattle are derived from special genetic stock whose origins are verified and fully traceable . We’ve given a whole new meaning to the word ‘thorough’. We use ultrasound technology to safely and humanely see inside the living animal, and to detect the right amount of marbling and muscle to produce the most tender, best-tasting beef there is.
Seriously? That's sounds kinda freaky.
- visionary0
ultrasound on burgers? that's fucked up.

I just noticed another thing. This site is using 8 fonts throughout. Heh.

haha... I met with Bill Curtis and talked w/him and my at-the-time bosses 2 years ago in Chicago to discuss this very site...
... I see it's progressed ... good luck. ;)

layout is a bit messy to the right. the bright red for the price is too bright. try a wine red. to balance the overall tone of the site. use a hierarchy of font sizes, weights to direct a viewers attention within that section to the price rather than tacky bright red
text is too small and there's way too much in the grass fed beef paragraph. try laying it out in columns. long lines are hard to read.

This guy owns that company (the old white dude) :)
