You need to be well prepared to do hikes like Black Tusk and Joffre....
Water pumps, light gear, good shoes and there are bears around.
Not trying to scare you - just don't want to send someone out there who isn't ready for it.

Thanks for the infos.
Skima, totally understand and it's wise of you to give a warning. I'm not the kind to run out into the wilderness unprepared and I grew up in "bear country". Unfortunately I don't think we'll even have enough time to get into anything epic like these hikes.

puget sound is fun! there should be campig there, and there is a national forest on that island ( cant remember the name) that is supposed to be really nice in the summer.

if you're really into camping, you should do the 'west coast trail'.. you need more time though
