Since you all seem to like suggesting sexy sans types in these suggestion threads, I've got a question for you: What are your favorite heavy sans for large type? Possibly looking for condensed, but really need a range of widths and weights, maybe even with a complementary slab or serif.
We're about to embark on a huge brand refresh for a company whose current primary typeface is Helvetica Neue Condensed. I feel it's too cold, to neutral for them and need something that maybe has a bit more personality (but not too much).
Was thinking along the lines of things like Knockout, Flama, etc., so if y'all have any suggestions let me know. Thanks.

ive been digging archer and caecelia lately. kinda feminine slabs. (not sure if that is appropriate here.)

But I've recently used Flama in a magazine redesign and it works well as large headlines in the heavier weights. Im not crazy about it in the condensed weights, it can look fine in all upper but U&lc looks kind of off balance. I think Ive used the Semicondensed, but the condensed or ultra condensed look pretty nice.

It's weird, I have a few in mind but I'm sure I'm forgetting some obvious beauties.

Hermes is more of an older fashionsed face, but seen it used for headlines and can look quite tasty, and friendly/approachable.

National looks gorgeous when set @ large sizes. Might be too 19th c. for your client though. How about Proxima Nova? Also, Fedra has some new display weights.
- I can´t work with national... I tried but I failed!!!!!Mau
- Will send you a PDF soon of my new print promo... looks great for text.gramme
- I'm finding I need to set it a bit larger than I would most other sans faces, and tighten the leading a bit. Besides that, works like a charm for me.gramme
- works like a charm for me.gramme
- ;) would love to see it ..
cheersMau - National is a work of art. Which unfortunately makes it quite useless for 99% of day-to-day applications :(5timuli
