I'm using mootools FX.Slide on a menu with a toogle to open and close the submenu's but what i want to have the submenu closed when a the page loads where its currently showing please can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this??

are you using mootools for anything else? otherwise I can point you how to do it with jquery

just hide it when you instranciate the class:
var mySlide = new Fx.Slide('myElement').hide();
or just
mySlide.hide(); after you've got it constructed.

Probably should be using slideToggle instead of toggle
