Quick PHP question

hey surface, not really no, but i dont think i would need to hide a directory for any reason? are there a few reasons why you would want to do this?! Cheers for all the help so far guys, gonna make my basic php sites much neater.

yeah sorry, i had to put a bunch of spaces in it to get it to not munge the code here, it'll work if you take out all the spaces in there...

many reasons.. you can filter out some designers who view source and click around through your directories. this is especially important if your directories aren't access restricted and contain files/images you do not want publicized (ex: client work, etc.). but all this can be avoided by utilizing your .htaccess file. google it and learn about user-friendly URLs and access to directories.

for really simple sites, you can use url rewriting via .htaccess to make all your nice clean urls and internally point it all to just one php file. for example..
site.com / section / page /
would all get pointed to the same php file, and you'd have your two vars:
$section =
$page =then you're not dealing with all kinds of files and directories.

acescence, so basically what i could do is have all pages in one directory and then create a fake diretory etc via htaccess?
