Doesn't matter if it's HD size or way smaller, looks like the astronauts hooked up a webcam to the shuttle and hung it out of the ship to record these videos.
All I see is some blurry blobs moving about talking. LOL

Interesting read on the dangers of exposure to cosmic rays - apparently, going to Mars is extremely dangerous for the astronauts, since they will be exposed for a prolonged period to cosmic rays (when compared to the relatively safer moon explorations).

Makes you think how unlikely it is that humans will ever leave our neighbourhood unless someone can find a way to avoid cosmic rays exposure.
- I heard the rays make very small holes in yr brainlukus_W
- Like this, perhaps..
http://www.ynetnews.…detritus - Very interesting link, Nairn. Wow.Corvo2
- Aye, it's kind of big news if it all works out - the implications for cancer treatment alone are profound.detritus
- That alone would already be amazing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this one.Corvo2
- Not the biggest problem to solve.. biggest is getting some commitment to ongoing exploration and colonisation of space..ribit
- .. space.ribit
- Well there's a lot of problems here on Earth that also need lots of money. Some people just don't see Space as aCorvo2
- priority (nor one likely to wield big results). I can't say I blame them, although I'm sure there's a reasonable mid-term.Corvo2
- I, for one, would like to see more "commitment" from other countries, but hey - who am I to say.Corvo2

I bet they went back to feed Elvis. And are returning for the funeral.

Streaming Real-time, rebroadcast, of the Moon Landing is being streamed here.
(takes a bit to load up, but it will be cool to listen to again on Monday when they land again - albeit previously recorded)
Landing on the moon is now in 55 hours, and counting. They are currently 160,000 miles from Earth, and traveling at 3, 544 feet per second.

- have you ever looked at the moon?ephix
- I don't get your question? if you mean looking at it and it appears grey from earth, you lost meGeorgesII
- well colours as we know them are relative to not only our eyes but how light reflects on our atmosphere, so it's...Corvo2
- impossible to know what colour is the moon unless you go up there with your terrestrial eyes.Corvo2
- I'm not a sciencist obviously, but there must be a reason why they never use cameras with composite colour.Corvo2
- But if you have a known (on earth) colored object attached to the lander and include it in the photo you have a reference?ribit
- ..reference?ribit
- I think that's how they calibrated the cameras aboard the Phoenix (Mars), but still ...Corvo2
- it's a terrestrial colour profile. What guarantees do we have that we would see those colours if we were on Mars?Corvo2
- NASA only gives the astronauts a pinhole camera. Tight budget.rylamar
