fact, lance is rad

i guess he will not win this year.

Contador is the most selfish rider there is. He is the kind of guy who is happy to ride 99 miles behind someone only to move out and win in the last mile. Not a team player as demonstrated today...

sorry, didn't mean to sound like an ass, however
a) contador rode many miles behind the schlecks today and didn't make an effort to beat them on the line
b) he claims he asked kloden about an acceleration and says kloden was okay with it....
c) astana (ie bruyneel/armstrong) has not treated contador very respectfully; Astana lacks team spirit not just contador (eg bruyneel and armstrong announcing leaving astana after the tour before the champs elysees)
that said, I don't know him personally, I certainly wouldn't claim that he is the most selfish rider in the tour (or the least for that matter), possibly the best though....
- All good points. But the last 18Km were a joke, he did nothing. Obviously thinking about the TT today.burnt

anyway. armstrong should pull a magic on the last mountain ride and ride on its own to nr. 1
and do the fuckng contador pistol trick at the finish.

that's what I was thinking digdre - that Armstrong will just annihilate Mt. Ventoux and bury Contador - that maybe he's saving it all for the last mountain.
Very odd this year that they finish on Ventoux, and then take the train to Paris for the final stage. As most should know, whoever the leader is in Paris on the final day pretty much is allowed to win even though they could turn it into a race if they wanted to. Everyone else is fighting for their finishing place.
All I'm saying is, it would sure be something if Armstrong got the edge on Contador and went into first on Mt. Ventoux.. would Contador respect that aspect of the Paris finale?

I'll add that I absolutely love the Tour de France and cycling. I was heavy into cycling in junior high and high school and it's all I did and thought about. This was during LeMond's heyday, and all I thought about was being in the Tour de France someday. I was preparing to start racing in the USCF when I was a freshman in high school; I was riding 185 miles a week, working out, best shape of my life. Then my dad had to go and get me a guitar for Christmas! :D Out with one fantasy, in with another...

compare soccer to this sport, and it will come to your attention how silly and ridiculous the whole soccer scene is.
- ridiculous amounts of money.
- ridiculous pussy players, i mean, they go down with every fucking little push they get. cyclists here are falling at high speed on a fucking road, stand up again and finish the race (yea well, in some cases)

This crash that you guys are talking about - a video link?

handlebar/steer? broke

The bars are fine, it looks like he moved his hands from the hoods to the drops at just the worst moment.
- Looked like a white line moment to me. Broke his cheek bone but luckily little else.burnt
- White line, those fuckers are killers... how many times i´ve kissed the asphalt for this!
OBBTKN - A broken cheekbone can be serious... my mum had a fall and has nerve damage on both sides of her face and can't feel her bottom lip
Amicus - ...can't feel her bottom lip still - the accident was 2 1/2 years agoAmicus

So this was on tv just 5mins ago.. just speculations/rumours but still...
since Armstrong is leaving Astana, and Bruyneel aswell, they are making a new team, the sport commentor was making a connection between google and bruyneel meeting up in brussels a few weeks ago.. MAYBE ->> google cycling team?

I hear you burnt. But if you want to talk wheel sitters, talk Cadel Evans. He is the biggest wheel sitter ever!
At least, when it comes down to it, Contador gets up and boogies.Yesterday, it wouldnt have been the best thing to do as he was riding against two riders from the same team, and they are the Schlecks.
One thing fo sho, its awesome racing!!!

Look out for Wiggins in the TT.
