So being laid off is no fun.
But I need to find more freelance until something full-time opens up. I'm wondering where most of you look to find out projects. Most of the stuff I've been working on since being laid off has been old clients / referrals etc. But looking to find new clients, do you use the elance type sits ? Whats the best method for real clients.

How's the market out there in Columbus? Must be really dry.

tis hard.

Columbus is getting hit hard - I was laid off back at the end of April and I've luckily found enough freelance to stay afloat but its tough.
The constant influx of designers that will work for dirt coming out of CCAD does not help. And with A&F reporting the closure of Ruehl this month I'm nervous!

Oh yeah, the limited brand is over there.

Yep, I've had quite a few friends laid off by them.

I freelanced steadily for the Limited Corp for about 5 years. It was fun and paid very well. Get in tight with them and you can bounce around from brand to brand. Designing grandma soap and plus size bras marketing wasn't the best but it paid the bills and living in Cowlumbus is cheap even in German Village.

there are a few sites, but honestly I've found a not that great paying job with them for every 50 emails I send out- so the return sucks hard. word of mouth works best.
