I have been thinking about buying a Wacom Intuos 4 tablet, but I starting thinking if I would really use it to it's full potential.
I don't want to spend $300 to $500 on something that I really have no use for.
I'm wondering if anyone knows of somewhere that I can go and try out a Wacom? Or if someone is kind enough to meet up with me and I could take a look at theirs, maybe even get a lesson or two. That's kinda asking a lot but we're talking $500 bucks here.
Any suggestions?

You wouldn't be able to tell, it takes time and effort to get used to a tablet. Do you retouch pics or do your own illustrations? What do you intend to use if for?
- I do my own illustrations, and I have been working with a couple of different people who would like to start clothing companies and I thought for Art/Designs for clothing that Wacom would be a good tool.hubb7designs
- Might be worth it then. Don't be put off after a few days. you need to stick at it and it comes, eventually.Jnr_Madison

The wacom tablet is a rediculous too. Can save tons of time and energy. (and writs ache.)
But, as jnr says, it takes time to get used to it. The learning curve is a little rough, but once you get it, its aces.

If you use photoshop you'll be amazed and wonder why it took you so long to get one;-)

Unplug the mouse to learn it or it might end up in the shed :)

After you get used to it you will hate working on a mouse again.

Does anyone have an old Tablet that they would want to sell for a fair price or even trade for some Snowboarding gear?

i was given an old wacom art pad II a while back .. while these are old, they still have tilt detection, they're pressure sensitive and you can use the serial port via a usb converter. the one I had was huge too - oversize A4.. maybe you could get one on ebay?

I recently discovered why I can't use a wacom tablet.
I'm a lefty for writing, but I use a mouse with my right hand.
So when I gave the wacom a try, I just couldn't figure out what I was doing, honest and true story.. I just realized this a couple of months ago..- Same here. I thought I was the only one. We should start a support group. Tragic.BK
