depends on how small it is and what it will be used for in the future.
only you and the client know or could anticipate that.If it's too small, then sure talk to them to get it traced. other wise keep it as it is. if you can print the logo in different sizes and show them what they will be getting if the logo is 10 inches wide, 4 in, 2 in, 1 in, .75 in......
