Is there some kind of extension to connect to a site that was previously created using Frontpage? When attempting to connect through Dreamweaver, it says I don't have permission. Contacted the IT guys, and they said I have to find some extension.
I've been trying to find information, but I can't seem to get anything for CS4.
Thanks.

I know on my host's cPanel
there is an option to turn on Front Page extensions , might this be it
not sure Adobe has support for this , but if you have a cPanel access dig around and look for that option

Clearly, I didn't decide to use Frontpage.

this is from my cPanel
"If you are using an .htaccess file on your site, FrontPage may not install. The FrontPage installation views non-FrontPage .htaccess files as a security problem and fails to install in these cases. If you would like to install FrontPage, please remove (or rename) any .htaccess file you might have in your directory.
Please also note that Microsoft has recently discontinued FrontPage -- this change means that we will no longer receive version updates or patch fixes from Microsoft. While we currently support FrontPage functionality on our platform, we strongly recommend you upgrade to the latest Web-authoring tools made available by Microsoft: either Microsoft Expression Web or SharePoint Designer 2007."
- actually seems they are on if you can't connect, you need to turn them off somehowBattleAxe
- Hmmm...doesn't look good.juhls
- for me, I mean. I don't have access to any of this, and I'm using Dreamweaver CS4 (so maybe there aren't updates)juhls
- I guess I could work with them within Dreamweaver, clean up the code, and then bring them back, but that's annoying.juhls
- hmm , how is the site hosted, 3rd party, in house?BattleAxe
- It's a government web site.juhls
- Intranet.juhls
- then there must be a server admin no?BattleAxe
- Yes, exactly, but I'm not sure they want to let me access it. The people I have contacted are not helpful, unfortunately.juhls
- I'll try again and see if I can get someone else. Thanks for the help though.juhls

FTP access has nothing to do with either application. have you tried turning on Passive mode?
