You can always find something to do in many cities, if you look hard enough. Like Ottawa. Just saying (I'm sure people will say something against the city, but I find that it has a nice balance).
Of course, if you want to be bombarded with things to do, then check out the major cities, like Toronto, Montréal, and probably Vancouver. I think most of these places are nice and are worth visiting just to check out before making your decision.
- i've only visited ottawa, thought it was pretty. :) t.o. is definitely full of things to do, but you do have to get away from it from time to time.barbara
- it from time to time.barbara
- Yup. Ottawa has a shit-load of greenery. I like going between Toronto and Ottawa so I get both sides.juhls
- i just go north of the city. you, jetsetter, you. ;)barbara
- ottawa is fun.

i have images turned off, but if there's canadian nsfw, i'm all for it.
i've been to alberta a few times....aside from the snow sports, not too much of a life if you prefer to jazz it up. have to agree with the above points on teh boring.
if none of the three major cities interest you, i say go way east. :D

Studderine, were you not in Chi-town? I'd say if you're more akin (I fucking love Chicago, better than NYC in my books) to living in that city, Toronto or Montreal are your best bet's. Out of all the cities listed, Toronto (where I'm at) would have the most work.
Vancouver is wicked for about a week, then if you're not into the outdoors, it's boring. If you'd like to see hell on earth, East Hastings is as close as you get.
- no longer in chi-town, laid off now in the hotness of phoenix for now.studderine
- i think chicago>phoenix>calg... would qualify as an epic fail.horton
- Would it? I mean living in another country sounds kind of like fun...?studderine

Some of the best hiking is to be had just north of Vancouver in a town called Squamish.
