Hi,
I'm on the hunt for a free (or very similar) font called Pistilli Roman.
I've found some other ones which are similar but are not free:
ITC Firenze
Orator
Albion 42
DidoniCan anyone help me?
Cheers

- beautiful numbers & ampersand. Those lowercase r's make me barfbaseline_shift
- there's a normal looking one in "flavored" must be an alt or swash added7point34
- Eww, that typeface makes me sick, and it looks almost nothing like Pistili.dMullins

Thanks for the response.
Anyone know of any similar free fonts?

Pistili isn't even available for purchase, let alone free.
I recently traced it from a spec sheet though. You can do it!

there are free traces that lack the same feeling as the original:

Its Pistilli Roman, and as dMullins says, its never been digitized though bastardised versions of it exist. Quick search showed 'Galeere' as a simialr font. Try searching for that.
However, all the fonts you've linked are actually cheap as chips. Its £12 for Didioni and Albion is a similar amount. Thats not that expensive really is it?
- this man is right, shell out the few pounds for didoni..neue75_bold

it's really poorly done but it's free and has some of the flavor you seek...

I found a great version called "Pistiline" at inkfonts.com. It's use of thick and thin strokes is very extreme and quite handsome.

glad that's solved
