I will explain that when I say cousin, it's my wife's cousin. I have done work for their business before and had a very poor experience working with them.
Also, my wife's Aunt asked me to show up to the graduation and the BBQ they had the next day to take photos for them.
So I'm not trying to shake down my family for money or anything like that. I'm only asking because they know that this is something that I provide as a service, and I wanted to see some opinions from you guys on how you would handle.
I do agree that I should probably do it for free because they are family and they will be there for me in the future.
Thanks for all the replies (good and bad, mostly funny)

No wonder your economy is in ruins.

^ if only GM had charged their cousins for all those SUV's they gave away at graduation.

Tell her, "You know, I charge my clients $300 for a job like this. Now, I know you're my Aunt, so I'm not going to charge you. At all. But, you know, YOU OWE ME A FUCKING SOLID!

I got one of those "words of wisdom" email forwards today and here's a good one that applies to you:
Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and family will. Stay in touch.
Moral: do the job and forget about the $300. Family comes first and what goes around comes around.

its a high school graduation, barely something there expecting to get invoices on.
Tell them when u cant do anymore , or put the photos up on a free slideshow service - Help , but don't get burned - don't think of the money , just complain if it becomes a time issue.

Personally i do stuff all the time for family (for free). Sometimes they just give me a pat on the back and other times pay me a little something but it is never the market rate, and I never ask.
Personally I think family = free (within reason).
