Hi,
would be great if I could get some feedback on my portfolio site that I have pretty much finished. What you liked/didn't like etc
Tried to make it a bit different to every other portfolio site out there
It takes about 30-40 seconds to load so just bear with it.
Cheers

Very nice. If I had a critique, it's that the rest of the site doesn't quite live up to the standard of the really cool intro video.
I would just full screen it instead of keeping everything in that little box with a white bg.

Took well over a minute to load. Waaayyyyy toooooooo loooonnnnngggggg... I can't say enough aboout how "long waits" turn people off.
Their perception becomes something like... "this guy does not know what he's doing"... etc, etc.
- It didn't take more than 15-20 seconds for mine, must be your computerbump79

Nothing works for me.....can't click on anything...is it still loading?
I like the style, but if the load times are cut by about 90%, I don't think anyone will stick around.

if there´d be no way of bringing the loading time down, i´d at least inform my users about what they are waiting for (title/short descr./etc.). the stopmotion video is a nice idea and it looks very good, but it doesn´t integrate very well into the rest of the site (to the project overview & about part). i also didn´t like the background (black frame + the balls & house), because it seems random, i couldn´t see any purpose (neither functional nor aestehical). then the style of the folio part (font types, layout) doesn´t seem to fit the scrabble/diy theme, the mix left a strange impression.

^pretty much.
nice intro, then nothing else to tie it all together.

I have been having a bit of a running battle with myself on how to tie the actual "Work/About" with the Intro.
I found it really difficult to tie it in because I wanted the portfolio area to be more to the point "this is my work, have a look" I wanted it to be clean, legible and easy to navigate. I didnt want to complicate it.
I suppose I could add little touch's to the portfolio area to link it in more, cause as you say it is quite detached at the mo (could almost be two different sites)
I personally think the font is ok though, I dont think people will expect the font to be closely linked to the scrabble letters, and there is no way I could carry that on throughout the site

Intro video is a cool concept but it does not translate through the rest of the site. You start to loose that attention to detail we all like so much in the beginning.

The box around it all kills the concept, lose it and have everything sit in the centre. give everything some space to breath and make the site full frame!
Also I think you could probably find a nicer way of displaying your work, the flash gallery feels too cheap for your work - which is pretty decent.

it is not formatted beautifully

Has potential.

I think you could make it consistent by giving the portfolio part the same visual style and stop motion animation style as the intro.
Kind of like the old Fallon website Hi-Res did.
