I've been working on a clients website for months and now the client isn't returning my calls or replying to any emails. So i decided to send an invoice for the work done to date but I get the feeling im going to be stiffed on the bill and the artwork I've produced will be copied. Is there anything by law i could add to the bottom of my invoce regarding copyright laws etc??
I hate being stiffed and chasing money and too be honest i dont care if they pay up pr not but I dont want them using the artwork I've created.
Also where do designers stand if part of there work is used on a new design?
Hope you can help
Cheers

the artwork belongs to the artist. they can't use it unless they pay for it.

you should never upload it before they paid the full amount.

also make sure you get a deposit before you start the job. it keep them on the right track. of course you have to do your part too.

I normally tend to do the design work and then get it all signned off and ask for 50% which is where im up to at the moment will just add to the bottom of the invoice that all artwork supplied is copyrighted by me and see what happens thanks for the advise guys

wait till they use it, then ask for your money and say you are about to get a lawyer.
then get a lawyer.

i am sure getting a lawyer will cost more then what you will get.
