i need some creative assistance on this rebranding. the site is done, but the identity is still in production (I know, incredibly stupid, but its not my workflow, i just work here).
i need some ideas for a document processing company. http://www.turningpaperintopower… is the site we'll be redoing.
i am clueless. they want to talk about too many things in one logo. technicians, imaging, expertise, etc. i've literally given four logo revisions, and our CD has rejected them all.
i am at a loss for what to do, and this one project has pushed me to the edge. i am ready to walk out of here. missed deadlines, and being over budget are all being blamed on me, because the CD has a vision for what he wants, but is too much of a loon to tell anyone what it is, and expects us to "hit his mark" so to speak.
please help.

The site actually keeps track of how many pages were scanned? LOL
- If you really think that's factual, you're the loon.noRBG

How does this CD describe his "vision" for the ScanOptics identity? I can't imagine it being that intensive; he's not a Fortune company or anything.

If this is the kind of project that has pushed you to the edge, I would walk out anyway

It's crass as hell, but I'd consider working the arms of your vortex into the form of curled sheets of paper.
- Nairn usually has a good vision, this is no exception.monospaced

the thing is, the company i'm designing for is a sub-company, their repair division.
so we're talking in terms of technicians, expertise, repair here.
sorry, it's not the project that's driving me crazy, its having a CEO as a CD that's driving me crazy. especially a CD/CEO who is hesitant to embrace interactive at their agency, and questions every nuance of everything i do.
i'd leave, but i have nothing lined up, as im new to this area.

Are you too shy to ask for a logo critique? Step in to the QBN circle of trust where you can say anything.

You need to take a deep breathe and relax. There are always going to be politics in the office that drive you insane, and this is no way to handle it. I think you should try to create something that YOU are proud of. Post it up here, these people are pretty honest and helpful!

I guess I should have called this: Associate to Experienced Technician.
The rebranding is for their SERVICE & REPAIR division. Not the parent company.

That's the screen grab of the site design. The logo is FPO really, but was part of a design round. I was trying to incorporate their vortex, but it's off-strategy, as it doesn't say anything about scanners.
In his words exactly, "If I landed on this page via a Google search, I would have no idea what this company does just by looking at the site, without reading anything."

the only scanner maintainance tagline is very pixelated and the site is too busy. the quote banner is way too heavy. also you will have to sub gotham with a web font unless you make it all flash and kiss seo good-bye. white signature on light gray?

They sold off their equipment sales back in the late 90's, but still run a repair service for their equipment.
They no longer do scanner sales as a main revenue generator. They are in the business of DPO now (ScanOptics). AccessServices is their division of engineers who service on-site DPO for their clients.
