I heard they were pretty amazing photos.

He's a good Bond, but he was much better in Munich, not only because he doesn't keep his lips in Zoolander pose all the time there.

quantum of solace didn't feel like a bond movie AT ALL
he is a good actor but he just doesn't fit into the bond character. If they would it call it "secret agent " quantum of solace" or something else and removed all ties to the british character the movie would have been a lot better inmho

meeklo - the whole point of the new films and craig was to ditch the old bold character. the first 2 were simply to introduce the new agent, from special forces to operative status. this is bond before he becomes the more suave agent. a blunt instrument. the new direction is simply following what they did with the bourne films as they made so much cash as well as gained such good reviews both commercially and critically.
i used to love the old bond films but they haven't stood the test of time well, for me anyway. the effects are fine, it's more the social attitudes and commentaries are so far gone. as for the last 20 years of bond - complete shite. people give shit to brosnan but don't seem to acknowledge how poor the stories had become. they were simply adverts for bad computer games.
if you like and prefer the old bond films you can actually still watch them. the new ones are, for a while at least, going to be like the last 2.
by their very definition they are exactly like bond films as they are bond films.
my 2 cents.

There is a lot more character development and seriousness behind Craig that wasn't there before for the Bond character.

I know they were trying to change it so it would be more acceptable to bigger crowds and make tons of cash, thats what hollywood does.
I disagree the bond films (the real ones at least) are and will stay classics, just like the very first star wars (the last 3 were a joke in my opinion at least). It's just not there, anymore, they went so far out of the way in order to make the character likeable that the "bond" essence is just not there anymore.
bourne Identity was an ok series, and the reason why is because they decided to create a new character with a similar concept.
all I'm saying is that they should have done the same with craig's films, just change the name up a bit, you can still sell a spy film without jumping the shark on a classic franchise.
my 2 cents. :)

All classic Bond films were pushing it. That's why Austin Powers was a very fitting continuation: they were all comedy.

The "classic" James Bond movies were made decades ago. It's not like they suddenly brought the series back after 30 years like Star Wars, they've been churning out a new Bond film every few years, each one slightly shittier than the last (Die Another Day, anyone?).
Point is, you will never recapture the classic. Sean Connery is 80 years old and retired from acting at this point. Since you can't top the classics, might as well do a new interpretation.

Also if you like Craig be sure to check out Layer Cake - that movie owns.
- Too bad it stole the ending from another film - it would've been better had it not done so. Not saying which, it would spoil it.raf
