Hi i just in the process of designing my first website after doing some basic training, still a long way to go :)
http://www.heysidebuildingsoluti…
is the website concept i have created , just basic for now. But the css menu at the top i am trying to make it compatible across most browsers ie 6,7,8 and safari and firefox, from what i have seen it works fine on them apart from ie 6
is the example this website gives me. I am not sure how to stop it doing this and display correctly in ie6. Can anyone help? thanks if you need the css iv used i can paste that too.

IE6 is displaying the list items at 100% width because you havn't declared a width for them.. you can use conditional statements to add a bit of css that only IE6 will execute; give them a fixed width and it should work a.f.a.i.k.

1. Use a reset stylesheet, helps with cross browser compatability

3. Clear fix; add this code in your css too which helps with floats
