ok, so i am leaning towards blurb for a personal photo book (better quality than lulu by most accounts).
so, i have been trawling through the various threads and on several occasions people have suggested that you can indeed use PDF's for your layouts, rather than the shitty book software they provide. BUT the only work around I can find on their site is to layout the book and export as a 300dpi png and place that in a full bleed template within their layout software.
this would be fine if it was just photos, but some pages have only text and I am worried about the quality of printing from an image.
has anyone actually done this with a PDF?

I've created my books from Apple Aperture and they've been really good. Sorry if that doesn't help.
