i keep needing sketches for various projects that need to be in certain styles or have certain strengths– futuristic, da vinci, emotive, cartoony, dramatic, etc, and i've noticed i keep going back to the same guys over and over again.

so i'm looking to branch out and try some new people.

is there a site or resource you guys use to find a sketch artist based on the style you need?

Looked around and can't really find a good resource. I don't do sketches much myself, only occasionally. Will keep my eye out for you.

You could try artwanted.com. there are some not-so-good artists there, but I've come across some very talented people as well.

and the resource would be recruitment agencies for designers, they should have storyboarders, and concept artists, and the whole jazz on the roster. or am I missing somehting?

i posted this paid ad on the concept art job forum. if you guys know of anyone who fits this description, send 'em my way!

    "WHAT WE WANT
i'm working on a book that will accompany a film we're doing the campaign for. part of it is made to look like the old journal/workbook of a scientist/mage and will have da vinci-esque sketches, scribbles, and notes. real old metaphysical, mechanical and diagrammatic looking stuff. (sample attached) this is what we need from you. 10-20 sketches we can put on pages in the journal so it looks like a real artifact. we will provide direction and ample reference material.

    WHO YOU ARE
    • someone who can do the sort of style i described above.
    • preferably native to the la/hollywood area who can come to our studio to talk and sketch in-house

    WHO WE ARE
The Arterie is a film advertising agency in the la/hollywood area. find out more about us here www.thearterie.com and here: impawards.com.

    PAYMENT
compensation for your work will be discussed with you by the people who handle that sort of thing here, i'm an art director and won't be handling that aspect of the project. i assure you, however, that we pay fairly and haven't had an unhappy vendor yet.

    HOW TO PROCEED
do not post here. communicate directly to me via email at "ncorwin (at) thearterie dot com". in this email tell me where you are located, a little info about your work experience, and provide samples of your work IN THE STYLE I DESCRIBED ABOVE. i will not be considering work in any other style- vector art, paintings, sculptures, or standard comic book art-type stuff will be ignored, so please don't send any.

    thanks!"
