What's the best one for the PC that also formats the code?
I currently have Notepad ++, but I want an easy way to clean up (unless there is one and I missed it).
Thanks.

I'm using conTEXT of late (not just for code)
http://www.context.cx/It allows you to create code templates or format text.

i use dreamweaver to code... i may as well be using notepad, though as i never use the interface for anything other than ftp.
they use notepad ++ and topstyle lite in my office... both are fairly stripped down simple editors from what i've seen

I'm getting Dreamweaver soon. This is my work computer. At home I have like 4 different editors for my Mac.
I'll look into those. Thanks, V and J (hehe)

On Moth's recommendation, I tried and ultimately bought this.
It's pretty bare bones, but clever in what it does.
Though, I do miss the arrays of idiot-buttons that I had access to in Homesite.

Homesite was the best.

Don't use Dreamweaver, jesus

don't listen to people who don't know what's good.
Dreamweaver is EXCELLENT editor and it will also allow you to preview direclty in WYSWYG mode / split what you are doing which saves you a ton of time.
Not to mention that it has code hinting, collapse tags and groupping etc etc. FTP and Site management is extremely well done with Check-ins and Check-outs and it has numerous support even for Visual Studio style of version management.
Great and CSS writing is awesome. The panel for CSS is incredibly usefull when you need to just to quickly set parameters without the waste of time by typing each line.

I'm trying to use HTML Tidy with Notepad++ and it keeps giving me an error.

I deal out E to all the kids here. They love it!
- moth0
You might need to mess around with E and some plugins/bundles to get a good HTML tidy working - but it is possible.

I must admit I still rock dreamweaver when I have to do things like tables and shit. It's also good for highlighting unclosed tags and errors.
- Boz0
Very good editor. I can't even imagine my life withou synchronize and site management tools or collapsing and groupping code when you have shit load of code. It makes it so much easier to get around the code and spot exactly what's wrong as you said moth.

Dreamweaver all the way. I don't understand why people use a seperate editor for HTML and CSS. Seems pointless switching between apps.
- juhls0
I agree, jamble. I'm looking for a free one at the moment though...

if you are still using Dreamweaver you are still working in the fucking 90's
do yourself a favour and learn textmate/cssedit or coda
- Corvo20
Anyone tried this?

I have all of them, fiesta. I prefer Dreamweaver, but I also use Coda.
