Most of my web experience is from the days of table based layouts and, more recently, Flash. I'm trying to layout my site using modern techniques and CSS. I decided to use Eric Meyers CSS reset since a lot of people seem to like it. My question is how to correctly use a reset. For example, I went in and set my body background-color in css but nothing happened. I found out the reset already set it. So am I supposed to put !important on all my code that conflicts with the reset, or change the settings in the reset or am I missing something?

If you're rebooting into CSS after a long time out, I can't recommend enough that you give this a shot..
It's a framework for a grid layout that contains a reset and is very easy to use. Of course, you're not stuck to the exact measurements it offers - once you're familiar with it, you can edit it to your wishes.

this is also nice. i use it a lot.
wasn't sure if 960 lets you customize anything or play with the columns at all. (i actually admit i had bookmarked 960 a while ago and never bothered going back.)

I'm retarded. I figured out what was wrong. It actually has nothing to do with the reset. Also, I should have downloaded the reset from Meyers site since the one I found was heavily modified. Move along, nothing to see here.
