Hey guys. I don't know this world that well...
But I am discussing a possible deal for a graphic novel based on an story IP of mine.
You guys have any great recommendations of portfolios I could check out? Stylistically, I am looking for something fairly on the realistic side, but am really open to many interpretations.
It's a dystopian, noir world we're creating if that helps...
Ideally, I would be interested in finding someone interesting with not a ton of previous exposure (i.e. not Frank Miller).
Thanks!

what is the difference between graphic novel and comic book?
just curious- peole would say the audience. GN for an older crowd. Really just semantics, though.baseline_shift
- ok so boobageMeeklo
- usually the graphic novel is a story line of comics joined into one book rather than many. so not much.airey

Well...
I am not the one to answer that.
I cannot say a whole lot about this project, but the IP already has characters and material portrayed by live actors. So the artwork needs to be fairly filmic... even if it is highly stylized.

cool I like dystopian story. Keep us informed on your project.
I really like Adrian Tomine but mybe he's too big now.

Will do...
Three plus years, everything I had from agency jobs gone into it.
Call me naive, but I think online interactive will soon transcend the advertising industry.
In the 90s we hadn't yet caught their attention. In the next decade, online will be bigger than Hollywood. We just need some real theory and production value.
- what makes you think the ad industry arent the ones in the interactive industry?airey

Brian Wood's work is gorgeous. His work raises the potential for integrating some of our photography via collage too...
This Peter Zdanowicz guy is terrific too. I love the textures!
Anybody else?
