My mrs is a travel writer for france/paris but we live in London, so we get to do both alot.
Love both but they are completely different.
Anyway this is the fucking nuts:
http://guides.hotelbook.com/sisp…they build a capsule hotel on top of the palais de tokyo. fucking cool as hell.
Saying that there is nowhere finer on this planet than Soho on a sunny Friday evening. London in the sun wins hands down. Everyone gets on it.

My day in London would be...
Have my friend meet me up at Angel street station. Off to his apartment. kick back on his balcony and have a few beers. off to the Tate to check out the current exhibition. have a few more pints after the museum. maybe come back to his place and start up the grill for a nice steak, kick back again and drink some more.
When I try to think of what I want to do in London, I don't have any particular answers. I always kinda just left it to my friend.

if you havent been to either of them, and assuming you're in the states, Id go to paris. Itll be more of a culture shock than london (in a good way), and the weather will probably be better.

go to both, only 2 hours apart by train

if you want 24 hour burger king with wifi go to london, if you want foreign vacation paris.
- So so true! That was my experience. But there are redeeming things about London.nocomply

Kezza is right = Have a look on the eurostar webesite - there are often a whole lot of deals going on - I'm going to Paris in June and its only costing about $100 - v quick and right into the center of the city (well, closer than an airport) - you really could do a day trip.

I have been to both many times. I was in London last year and year before. I haven't been back to Paris in 2-3yrs. I have friends in both cities.
You think I can fly in Thurs morning to London, hang out, have dinner with friends, then catch the early morning train to Paris next day and fly back late Sunday? I feel like that's a little much...
- Pretty insane, but doable I suppose. I'd probably be too tired to enjoy a lot of it.nocomply

Land in Paris fly out of London.

I've been to Paris, not to London, and I'd go back to Paris 10/10 times over going to London for a first time. It was just an unreal experience.

I think there's more wow factor in Paris - everywhere is lovely - in london you have to dig a little. That said, London nightlife is far, far superior

I was just recently in both. I did 4 days in Paris and 2.5 in London.
I would definitely, 100% do Paris. 4 days in Paris didn't seem like quite enough, but I was done with London after 2 full days (no offense to the Londoners because it's still an amazing city.) But to be fair, London was the final leg of my trip and I was probably a bit tired and ready to go home at that point.

Me? Paris.
But then, I live in London.

Also, while it is possible to do both, you lose the better part of a day in travel time. If you're only doing 3 days I would stick to 1 location.

Hmmm. Now I am not so sure if it's worth it. 8hrs flight x 2, and 3 days in there. Maybe I am getting old. I might have to thinking about a little longer vacation when I am not so crazy busy.
