actually, it has a very thorough cleanup crew and a sister organization whose goal is to offset the festival's carbon footprint

hey cap'n, i keep reading about rebar and stuff but that seems like a hassle. i have an 18' wide teepee tent with a center pole held up by ten guy lines with 12" "heavy duty" stakes at the ends.
do you think those stakes will do the job or should i look into another solution?

That should do the job, but I have heard of people using longer pieces of rebar and bending them into a U so you have 2 12" bars on each guide line.
The ground can be finicky, some years it is really solid and other years it is dust for a few inches deep. If you bring options, you will be able to adjust on the fly.

I performed at bm decompression in LA one time, I know its nothing like the real party, but I can't take an entire week of that I'm sure, this decomp was 1 night, in the middle of the city, and I saw some of the most amazing art installations ever, people are so creative, I would imagine the desert party is 1000 times better

all the burning man people seem to live in the bay area.
i ended up on treasure island a month or so ago at one of their parties. weird old hippies and cars that shot fire.
on the upside, everyone was very entertaining and there were a few really wasted hot sluts.

also, how much space am i allotted for my camp? enough for my 18' teepee? do you just park your vehicles in your camp, or is there parking elsewhere and a shuttle or something?

scarabin, you have as much space as you want. You probably want to get there early in the week so you are sure to get the space, but basically you find a spot on a street and park and set up camp. No shuttles or need to park elsewhere.
You will most likely park behind camp so you don't have to look at your car all week, but it will be there.
