I have just ordered myself a new 15" MacBook Pro 2.93Ghz and also need a new monitor as I am upgrading from an iMac.
Most of my money had gone on the MBP so was looking to spend around £300 and wanted to get a 24" S-IPS monitor however this looks a little optimistic?
Three models that keep cropping up as good monitors just above my price bracket are:
* HP LP2475W
* Hazro Hz24wi
* Dell UltraSharp 2408 WFPDoes anyone here have experience of any of these or know which is the best? Also, if you know of any other monitors that are also worth considering please let me know?
Cheers :)
P.S. I am a graphic designer working in print and web.

15" isnt enough? Ha Thats what she said.

My Dell (L2248wg / work provided) has way oversaturated colors. It's a constant irritation and even calibration can't fix it. I'd personally steer away from that model.

i would picked the Dell UltraSharp 2408 WFP - had the older version at work.
- The old (non HC) version didn't have the oversaturation issueraf

Dell UltraSharp 2408 WFP it is then. I've also been looking for a monitor for my MBP. Could have saved time by asking on here!

I have the previous model Dell UltraSharp and it has lasted me 5 years, and I LOVE it. They know how to make a good monitor.

yup, they do. My Dell 24 is going on 4+ years now, not a problem anywhere.

I have the Dell. The primary colors are BRIGHT but its a good monitor nonetheless.

HP has a funny sparkle coating from what I've heard. My dell has something similar and I hate it (though I seldom notice anymore).

'panel search' is a valuable resource. Dell likes to switch technology from year to year. Some years are absolute garbage.

HP really sucks from my experience .. not only the quality of the screen itself but also the stand and the "casing" .. weird stuff..
don't know the hazro..
I'm working on a dell 24" with a macbook Pro as well .. really good monitor .. but still like the apple displays better ... but i don't think it's worth the difference in money.

Not the route I'm going to take as I would like a new monitor however some might find this useful... basically software that allows you to use an old iMac or second laptop as a second screen:

I used to dell 2408 at work before and hated it. I have a 23" cinema display at home and can't be happier. I am not so sure about the new 24" since it's got a gloss finish. I use a 20" cinema at work and it's horrible. I don't know, everyone seems to love dell. Get what you want regardless, can't you just write off as business expenses anyway?
