Kurt Gödel's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ku... famous proof of God's existence was summarized by Nick Bostrom to prove that we live inside a computer simulation.

The argument is quite simple. Suppose that civilizations of thinking creatures do not perish after reaching some limit of development, but become so extremely powerful that they can build a simulated reality indistinguishable from their own.

Because these simulations have the same evolutionary potential, like the base universe where they are constructed, the inhabitants inside the simulation also evolve to be extremely powerful, and begin to build a following simulation in a series of virtual realities, which are indistinguishable from the previous ones.

So, there is an infinite (or very large) number of nested simulations, one inside the other created over googolplexes of thousands of years.

Our civilization could be either inside the base universe (in which case we have no Gods) or in one of the countless simulations (we have Gods who created us, admins living in the mother universe). Because the base universe is only one and simulations are infinitely many, by the laws of probability we almost certainly
    live within a simulation.

The evolutionary goal of our universe is to give birth to another universe. For our universe the simplest way is to create a thinking civilization (us, the humanity) which hopefully grows so powerful it can do infinitely advanced computer simulations.

This theory is also useful for explaining human sexuality. According to Lacan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ja... sexuality is reduced to transgression -- to the fact that the fundamental object of sexual attraction is everything what is not allowed.

Everyone understands that in a few years, there simply will be no pornography, because 99% of porn will be completely realistic and increasingly improving 3D-animations, and it is already now possible to look at what kind of subjects attract the audience and what our nested virtual reality will be like:
