Anyone else used this yet? While there is some, there doesn't seem to be a vast amount of editorializing for or against it. At least not that I could find.
Besides the obvious setback of not being able to select the type on-screen, has anyone utilized Cufón and found other hang-ups? I'd like to use this for an upcoming project.

Hmmm, might be giving that a try soon.

is this some sort of french dessert?

many commercial typeface not allow web embedding. don't break the law

Yeah, what the fuck is up with that? Why do they want thousands to be able to use the font on a web site?
What is so different about a web site that usage on the web needs to be licensed completely differently, and at so much more money?
- Also, I don't know the answer to your question. I'd like to know the reasoning myself.dMullins

As far as licensing, most foundries will probably be more than happy to get on board with revising licenses if that means more people will be buying fonts.

Pretty flawless IMO. I think it's going to blow up.
Using it on a high profile project launching soon...

Hadn't read CM's editorial, but essentially the same thing everyone else is saying -- it's not "better" yet, but it probably will be.

I have already tried it and it looks promising. Despite the mentioned drawbacks, don't like the EULA license for embedding.

I used it today for the first time - took all of 3 minutes to install/apply. I wont be using sifr anymore!

problem with it of course is the licensing as theoretically the font can be reverse engineered (although you can selected the quality of the font... so not sure how useful this would be to copy)... as the font file is .js i wonder if you can obsuficate it?
but tired it and liked, but don't want to put myself, or my clients up for being prosecuted...

Just started using it, it's working well so far it's a lot easier to set up compared to sifr.
A great example of cufon is this site... http://www.jivesoftware.com/
