It kinda makes me question, I go all out for my clients for what they're prepared to pay. Would this one guy do all this INSANE work for Audi for free or next to?
Everyone I know who's worked for MTV says they pay next to nothing and expect awesomeness, it's just not sustainable for someone like me.
What does everyone else do in terms of this kind of stuff? EG does this KXX wizard deliver illustration work like this for half the price of what I'd charge for a worse illustration because he oozes way more talent or he spends 100 more hours on it?
Also, designing to impress designers doesn't always pull work or fill your pockets. Designing for clients does though, even though it's not always the best portfolio work.

"MTV says they pay next to nothing and expect awesomeness"
still everyone, well plenty of designers has them in their portfolio. except. me. :-)
- just do a design and put their logo on. who'd know it wasn't real? i'm doing it.airey

these guys aren't really designers in the traditional sense, more in the 90s lets play with Adobe sense
- +1000...albeit a good understanding of color.hellogoodbye

Meffid I think you are over-reacting. Its just someone who has a very good sketching hand and a penchant for graphics novels. He has spent all day every day drawing stuff, scanning it in and adding colour and type in the standard generic '08 graphic style. Hardly any of that work is real work for the real world.
- For sure. It's one of the better collections I've seen lately though.meffid

stop talking shit you cock
this is good shit, and stop complaining abot the industry. Get on with it or fuck off. I worked for MTV for fuck all, but now I reap the rewards and get paid a lot.
honestly whats wrong with this country where everyone expects everything straight away, put the effort in, enjoy what you do, it's only work. Life's to short to worry about other people.
rant over

i've done two digital projects for MTV and they aren't the best digital clients tbh.
in terms of motion work it's awesome. but they are severely stunted digitally. saying that i'll probably put that stuff on my new folio. :P
