Hi,
I'm working on a site / web based application with 4/5 layers of navigation.
Has anyone seen any good examples of navigation that goes 4/5 layers deep?
Cheers

any context? why are there so many layers, what are you navigating between and why on earth isn't it simpler?

its a sustainability business network site, the main area of the site are the networks, and these can go 4/5 levels deeps. Currently I have the main 2 levels of navigation running horizontally, then a 3 column structure with 3rd level nav in the right hand column, content and the left column has contextual navigation and relevant links.
The clients built the system we are just re-skinning the front end so we cant change the structure of the site.

I would say use breadcrumbs like many bloated government website or the itunes store.

Run, don't walk... you may end up being blamed for the site being unusable when the real reason is the ungodly structure you're stuck with
I've been down this road before and I wish I never took that project.
Reskinning isn't going to save much.... possibly a great search function with ajax suggestions, and/or a human "guide" blog-like homepage...
