Anyone worked with Sharepoint recently? I had a nightmare project with it years ago... I heard it's improved alot, but I'm skeptical. I ask because the client has "drunk the sharepoint koolaid" but I'd certainly like $$$

    Questions:

    1. Sharepoint sites look like Sharepoint sites, not much easily modified: Is this still true?

    2. Users do updates in MS-Office, therefore can screw stuff up semi-accidently: Is it possible to restrict user mods easily?

    3. Dev / Test environments hard to setup, required being tied to IT geeks... is this still true?

1.) You can make a MOSS site look like other site.
2.) The big thing with MOSS is administration and governance. So it does this very well actually.
3.) It's very easy to have multiple sites open on one install for development. Local dev environments are more temperamental. (can run slow etc.)

    Mimio, that's useful info....

    1. How would you compare your learning curve in MOSS to a random CMS?

    2. anything you learned about CMS that wasn't in books or web resources?

    3. why do there seem to be lots of "almost complete" MOSS projects looking for somebody to "finish up?"

    thanks again if you respond!
