A sample book of fonts with an accompanying CD with full licensed versions of said fonts featured in the book?

Yes

This only has samples:

http://www.fontshop.com/products…But really any font book you buy for cheap with samples is probably going to be filled with awful fonts you're never going to use. Best investing in a few key families that you can get good use from that are well considered, well drawn and will work in various situations.

The problem i'm having is when i'm developing ID's and they can't use the same font families I always find myself searching for hours for the right fonts. Very time consuming. Looking for the magic combo. Thanks for the links!

Ok, the thing about font books is that they are usually just samples to test out the fonts. Or else they are massively expensive and may not have a huge amount of fonts that you would find useful for a big expense. Now Im not saying they would be crap fonts but at €2,000 - €6,000 for some of those font library cds you would be better served visiting a few foundry websites and being selective about your font choices.
if you propose new fonts to clients, try getting sample versions or pdfs or images are whatever to mock up identities to give a good view of how they would look finished then include the cost of the font in your overall design budget in the same way you would image procurement, an illustration, 3rd party costs, whatever.
Slowly build up your library of fonts, learn to work with the fonts you have and master them. You or I may not agree with the statement but Massimo Vignelli once stated that all the world needed were six timeless typefaces that could cater to every single communication problem: Helvetica, Times, Futura, New Century, Garamond and Bodoni.
Personally I don't very much care for Helvetica or Futura but Im just using it as an example.

Very valid points, thank you. Another issue that I have is when I'm building logos. The style/client always changes and I can't really use a sample logo/screen shot. So I get stuck. I can suggest a font, but in the end it might not be right when all is done. :( So that's my frustration.
