We just moved a bunch of websites from a CIHost server that we had to GoDaddy because it's been going down a lot. Now some of those sites are down. Is there an attack going on at godaddy or is it not a reliable service in your experience? do you have a better alternative for the price?

I have sites on godaddy. I have sites on media temple. Want to guess which ones have better up time?

My GoDaddy site is down today, My MediaTemple site was done yesterday. It seems there's some sort of QBN voodoo power of my hosting.

Any site that gives me more options to see Danica Patrick than hosting packages is not a worthy host in my book.

Actually I have had really good success with GoDaddy. Just give it some time to settle in. You never know it could just be transferred settings that aren't configured correctly.
I would choose GoDaddy over MediaTemple ANY DAY. I haven't gone down once in three years, and MediaTemple goes down more than the slutty girl next door to me.

GoDaddy is rubbish. It may be more reliable than MT (can't speak to that) but their customer service is atrocious. No toll free number (you have to pay to talk to them about their crappy product) and in my experience, you get a lot of boiler plate responses when uses the email support.
Not a fan.

Huh, my experience customer service-wise with godaddy has been very good overall.

godaddy likes to steal your domain names.

sites are back up, angry customers are even angrier. it's weird, all my freelance sites have never gone down.

I've been with (MT) for around 4-5 years and the only thing i can complain about is the webmail. I get errors in the Mozilla Ajax client when I'm on Firefox. I guess I should check the knowledge base or shoot them a ticket. Besides that I think MT is a bit more user friendly than go daddy. I've put sites on GoDaddy for clients and that shit is a mess.

I am using 1and1 for all of my hosting for the last 3 years and its been great. I also have a dedicated server at Godaddy and that s**t is crashing all the time, at one point the whole server failed and they weren't able to back-up everything 100% (good thing we had it).
So read this: Godaddy is cheap but for a reason
