  Long story short: an external HD (pc formatted) was formatted by accident as a Mac Hd (while connected on a Mac). Now, since it was a quick format, is there any software to perform a data recovery on mac (can't do that on PC since the HD doesn't appear under windows)?

  You could use DiskWarrior to scavenge for directory data.. if it had been used on a Mac? (or does DW only work if data was written when it was Mac-formatted?)

  Actually being a quick format, i'm pretty sure that everything is still there.
  I just need something to have a look beyond the FAT, to the files that actually are on the disk. I did that couple of time on a pc and i'm quite sure that a similar software exists for mac as well.
