I'm hosted with Mosso. $120 for my own server and they maintain it. I can have as many sites as I want on it, and the service is great.
I didn't go with mediatemple because every time they're mentioned on QBN its because they suck.
- If you followed everything on QBN, you'd do nothing but drink, read porn, snort coke, and worship the Swiss.boobs

MediaTemple DV and higher is great if you're hosting lots of sites with mail, ftp, etc. If not, go Slicehost and never look back again.

On the email...
On 02-28-2009, a small portion of our first-generation (gs) Grid-Service customers experienced a prolonged disruption to their hosting services. At the conclusion of that incident, we promised to produce a more in-depth statement regarding the overall status of the GRID.
This information is now available at our blog.
http://weblog.mediatemple.net/we…I look forward to reading your comments.

They are bullshit. That letter from the CEO was bullshit. I would say paying $20/month for my portfolio alongside another small couple of blogs/etc is a 'premium' price. My $5/month host was of better quality and service.

So much love for Media Temple, they have dozens of hate threads, hahaha.

Depending on what you're doing, is a month credit really worth the downtime.
- Exactly. I would have paid 5X my monthly fee to have access to my site last weekend.nocomply

Deep down they're good people. They just gave me a month's credit because my site was down last weekend. Without me asking.

I was one of the unlucky few on cluster 2 with over 36 hours of downtime last weekend.
Couldn't have come at a much worse time for me since I was trying to launch a large project that Sunday night.
I am totally understanding of occasional down-time but this was way too much.
I want to upgrade at the DV service, but at the same time I don't want to pay them more money just to have them get right what they should be doing all along.
Despite these frustrations, I still do think their customer service is great.

GS is not so good. It has been sub-par since they launched it.
I use the DV though, which has been excellent. I would recommend upgrading to the DV if you can.

i know people who are paying half for their ISP with barely any issues. yeah, yeah.. i know... switch if I'm not happy. I get that. I may... soon.
I run a business and it's very irritating to see my service fluctuate so much.
