Really don't know too much about cameras. Have been using a Minolta Dimage A1 for years but it has suddenly died on me.
Looking to get a new one but really low on funds at the moment so want something for around £100 - £200 mark. I understand this is a low budget but would appreciate your opinions and advice on the best camera I can get in this price range.
Needs to be fairly small and capable of taking shots ranging from printed portfolio work to (as an example) a nice landscape scene that I may even like to print.
Any advice!?
I know its a bit of a broad and vague request but I know fuck all about cameras :D

Tungsten, how do you mean 'the right circumstances'?
Is it a fucker to get crisp images without a tripod? Also, consider I know nothing about cameras.
Any info much appreciated!

like any compact camera that only shoots jpegs, the more light you have the sharper your images will be. All small chip cameras tend to smear fine details. That being said, I've made some pretty big prints from mine and they look pretty good.
- is it ok in general without a tripod?ADP
- yeah, I don't really zoom the thing all the way to 400mm very often so it's not really a problemTungsten
- I can't imagine i'd use the zoom much at all but I would definitely never use a tripod. Seems like a good dealADP
- you will probably use the zoom more than you imaginejaylarson

Honestly, if you were happy with your old Minolta A1, then any of these new cameras will make you happy.
