REZERECTION MIX TAPES
(it was a Scottish and Northern Thang)This was just before happy hardcore crap hit the scene.
The early Rez and hardcore stuff was based on breakbeats like the prodigy etc were using rather than the 4 to the floor nonsense that makes happy hardcore.I've still got a load of Rez mixtapes - yes some are pants, but some are really good.
(haha i used to have this flyer)Used to have loads of old vinyl from that time - thats when i started getting into djing and used to spend a fortune.
Had a lot of onesided vinyl like these ..... (that i sold a few years later cos i needed cash - poor student days)

probably the best decade for my musical tastes:
The Pixies (technically 80's, but I discovered them in the 90's)
The Flaming Lips (also 80's...)
Pavement
Spiritualized
Yo La Tengo
Modest Mouse
The Murder City Devils
Sparklehorse
Jawbreaker
Blonde Redhead
Arab Strap
Mogwai
Dinosaur Jr (also an 80's band I didnt discover till the 90's)
Red House Painters
Sunny Day Real Estate
Sebadoh
Fugazi
Refused
The Verve
Whiskeytown
The Dismemberment Plan
Shellac
Three Mile Pilot
The Black Heart Procession
Built to Spill
Screaming Trees/Mark Lanegan
Jesus Lizard
Slowdive
Shit I could go on and on. Pretty much all the bands put out on Touch and Go, Up/K, SubPop, Matador, Jade Tree records in that decade.- shellac!danthon

probably more of an 80's band...but 1990 was so good
they were on the verge of total collaspe...but that made the live shows legendary. short, intense, unpredictable...everything rock & roll should be. The light that shines the brightest..shines half as long
