Can anyone point me to an article or provide some insight concerning accessibility issues with using display:block / display:none to show / hide divs?
As in does that affect accessibility at all is there an issue or is it fine?

I should point out that I understand that screen readers will not read display:none, but my big question is will they read it when the style is changed to display:block when a link is clicked.

if your talking about using a display:none; for show/hide, use js to hide them on load then use it to open them again. when you click.
I add a class called js_hide then use document.write to pull in a stylesheet if js is enabled.
see my portfolio for an example.
does that help?

yeah, that's what I'm doing, but my question whether when the link is clicked that "shows" the div (i.e. change the style from display:none to display:block" ) if a screen reader will then read the content of that div.
As example at the link here:

if you click the "i" and are using a screenreader, does anyone know if the screenreader will then read the description of the promotion or the Secueity code?

basically, if you label your anchors correctly then you should be fine.
