Go on then. Hit me with the intellectual discourse that defends kiddy porn.
- it really isn't dude. i have no intellectual discourse to hit you with, the new york times, aperture, and other respectible/reputabl... sources might though.

So what you've done is collect all the naked kid pics, and post them on your blog - with no comment as to why?
Brilliant blog. Well done.
- look up sime johan, this dude is a respectable figure in the art world. if it's that contraversial i'll take it down. geezerunningballad
- Tell it to your blog then ffs...moth

You don't pass any comment on them. I don't care who took the photos, or in what context. The context you've put them in is without comment or reason. It's looks like a handy place for you to post you collection of naked children.
As I said - if you've got a problem with the perception of these images - you should raise the subject on the blog - otherwise you just look like a pervert.
- i feel like this blog should be an image board for contemporary photography. i don't feel the need to talk about it, just share artists, but yeah, i agree you are right.runningballad
- so why should we stop by your blog then? why shouldnt we just visit better contemp photo sites?23kon

Anyone can put together a blog like this within half an hour and post up art stuff theyve seen online. It makes for a sexy looking blog with lots of great work on it - sadly none of it your own. So what kudos do you expect for what you've done.
There are a million and three other sites like this on the interweb.
If you want your blog to be read and be popular then you are going to have to offer something unique. You havent even written a lot to explain what/why you've posted stuff. Why not write a commentary on each thing, give your views.
It would make it so much more interesting, even if you were slating the stuff - it might be your tone that made people tune in.

good point. i sort of follow what you are saying and you are right, but i feel like i wanted just a place where i could share the art the i find on other sites and share with people. sort of like ffffound only with photographyl i see it's necessary to create dialogue with the viewer or else people start to get the wrong impression. as an entry in the blog said, i was going to start adding commentary but then i just felt like i didn't have any commentary to add. i will most likely start adding commentary.

Surely you must feel SOMETHING about the photography you have posted, otherwise WHY did you post them?
You obviously think they are good/bad/unique/disturbing/creat... so why not write about it. Write why they inspire you etc - thats what a blog is meant for.
Add some of your own creative input to other peoples work otherwise you are just effectively stealing their work to decorate your blog, no?
And thats what I hate with a passion and by the sounds of it others too who have commented.

i basically agree with everything you just said. i guess i just feel as though i don't really have a talent in writing. i feel like my commentary would be irrelevant. but most importantly i feel like all of the work speaks for itself. i still know what you are saying though, and i will most definitely start adding commentary to my blog, or at least try to! thanks!
thanks for taking the time out and evaluating the stuff i posted, and not having such an adverse reaction like "oh no, a little girl is topless"
so it must be porn.- If you don't say otherwise - who knows what people think..moth

i dont read, i'm a terrible writer - but i enjoy a good rant and airing my views or even playing devils advocate to provoke views from others.
you dont have to be a talented writer to air your views on work.
if you write something that is respectable then people will come back to read more of what you write, if people completely disagree with what you say then discussions/arguements may follow in the comments. either way its winner, no?

all very good points, but this blog was created in response to other blogs that i highly respect. they were similar to mine but had commentary. their commentary was witty, funny, and pretty genius. i attempted to emulate their style but sort of failed, i guess.
it is true though, that in order to keep a reader hooked you have to create dialogue with them. i think i do create dialogue with them by providing the images though. it's just not a personal dialogue, which is what i think you (or general blog readers) want. this is some pretty good commentary, i will aim for better now.

i thought blogs were about interesting writing. all you seem to be doing is finding pictures and duplicating them somewhere else.
i know it's not cool to like things anymore, but you need to make more of an effort if you are going to get people to make a return visit.
- i realise i haven't said anything that hasn't already been said but hey, i know everyone loves to hear from me so...Raniator
- runningballad0
Ranitor, my logic was that people wouldn't come back based on what i said but what i posted.
for example, i follow this blog called htttp://www.iheartphotograph.blo...
which is basically what i do only that they have commentary. what keeps me coming back to that site isn't the commentary but what artist they're going to post next. what new work am i going to exposed to. does that make sense?
usually if i want to read about an artist's concept or a critique of their work i'll read it on the artist's site or look professional critiques, but i will start adding commentary nonetheless as my blog runs the risk of being perceived as being something that it is not.

if that floats your boat then fair enough.
think about how pish the Editors Choice section of QBN would be if it was a picture and a link to a site without the opportunity for users to write what they like about it. love the stuff or hate the stuff - any contribution is forwarding the community and popularity of these features.
And the QBN admins will know that if they post up something pish or something that has already been posted in the PV that they'll get slated for it so it keeps them on their toes and posting good stuff.
