Spooky Etherial Carnival Vernacular

  I hope that someone might be able to point me towards some sources / references; I am looking for examples of spooky etherial carnival vernacular -- this may be in the way of old photos, props, clothing, or other artist who might be working in a similar vain.

  check the tv series 'carnivale' (HBO) - the dvd menus especially.

  also, 'something wicked this way comes' by bradbury (disney also did a film. first one done after his death when son took over. scared the crap out of me)
