  Ok, need some web design trend history help....
  Can people give me links to the sites that popped up all around 2001 showing the crazy 3D metal shard style design with dramatic lighting and shit exploding all over...?

  I don't know what the style was called, but someone should know what I'm talking about.

  at least the best of that stuff was forward looking. History ground to a halt sometime afterwards and we've simply reworked old stuff since then. Done it better, sure, but no new ideas. Please prove me wrong.
