Honestly, I saw the photo and all I could think about was how resilient human skin is to absurd amounts of stress. I mean, look at the veins. It's almost like a hot air balloon..
- Hot air balloons have veins??Horp
- this is a multiple choice question, yes?zenmasterfoo

Hopefully, the public's hate for her won't affect her kids's self esteem. Get that chick sterilised, Obama!

^Couldn't agree with you more sputnik. It;s this kind of irresponsible crap that will ultimately screw up social services for those who do need help. I also feel bad for her parents who are stuck caring for their self-centered daughter and her clone army.

Another thing that really grinds my gears - how much is her family going to fuck with the public school system? 6 kids in one class, and then 8 in another? And several have disabilities and autism. So not only do a bunch of other kids get shifted around classes and potentially school buildings, just because of her, but shit, what is the cost per child to the taxpayer to care for a special needs child in a school? This is all assuming she will retain custody of all of them and they stay int he same area.

I believe she's also on food stamps, and now asking for money. It pisses me off to no end. This is where America is really just dumb.... we support this. I like China's one child policy. It seems the under educated and poor always have more kids than their opposites... so basically we're breeding a country and unintelligent, low class people. Wonderful

Nothing wrong with having tons of kids; but relying on the system for support is absurd and obscene. I think she needs counseling more than anything else.

Nothing wrong with having tons of kids; but relying on society to take of them when they were your choice is wrong. Further to have children to fulfill some twisted psychological hole in yourself is equally wrong. The health professionals involved in the fertilization are certinly acting unethically. The allowing of 8 embryos to term is not only dangerous to the fetuses, but also to the life of the mother..if that mother dies in childbirth her existing 6 kids then have no mother. Completly unethical according to any measure...

Someone just sent me this factoid:
"The Suleman octuplets' medical costs have not been disclosed, but in 2006, the average cost for a premature baby's hospital stay in California was $164,273, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Eight times that equals $1.3 million"
- TheBlueOne0
You know it's not that 8 tiny little humans are going to cost the United States $1.3 million or whatever. The life is precious and worth whatever the cost..the problem is the decision and judgement of the mother and the healthcare professionals to proceed with such a ridiculous endeavor in the first place. This woman isn't right in the head - she said something like "I had a rotten childhood and felt lonely and wanted a big family to ease the pain..." Woah. Wrong person to be put in the care of tiny humans, especially 14 of them. And like I said above, whatever health professionals allowed this travesty to occur need to be brought up before whatever licensing board that is appropriate..

Similar to a majority of graphic designers, therapists have said Suleman may suffer from Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)
