Hi. I have a creative space I'd like to stream live on the web. I'd also like to use the camera for some stop frame stuff but know nothing about the implications/ease of use/costs involved.
I'd appreciate any recommendations.
Cheers

Despite the exploit everyone uses with the Axis IP-based cameras, they still make high-quality gear, indoor/outdoor, fixed/pan-tilt-zoom, you can record or stream it.
Bandwidth restrictions include your provider possibly having a limit on upload vs download (if you're expecting a lot of traffic), the level of compression on the stream (balancing megabytes vs image quality)
If you're going to just open a port and allow access straight into the camera there's nothing else you need to do because the Axis cameras have a basic guest level website built in, but if you want to frame it within an existing page with content, you'll have a bit of work to do, not much.I mean, you could just get a logitech camera and hang it off a PC, but if you're serious about it, IP-based is better... IP-based with wireless is even better, you can mount it in the middle of the ceiling pointing straight down.
If you're going to buy a standard webcam, ribit is right, the Vision Pro has awesome image quality.
Or, hack a normal digital camera to act as a webcam http://ashwinkp.blogspot.com/200…

The camera will be in the room on its own (so no chance of hooking to a PC). Its needs to be mains supply powered and wirelessly connect I guess. Can the QuickCam stream?
IP-based with wireless seems to sound right, but again Im clueless, so any more help would be appreciated.
Cheers
