    * 802.11n wireless
    * One 10/100BASE-T Ethernet port for connecting a DSL modem, cable modem, or Ethernet network
    * USB port for connecting a USB printer4
    * 3.5-mm audio minijack for analog or optical digital sound5
    * Built-in power supply

    ..says apple.com

    you might be able to by a converter for the 1/4'' jack but studio monitors are meant to be used with studio equipment, you might be better off purchasing something more along the lines of cinema audio for your needs... unless you're trying to build a studio... in which you're going to want to buy an i/o interface for these and your tracking software.

    Yeah, monitors are not really for just listening to music through, more about an accurate sound (although if you do, you'll probably hear bits in songs you've never noticed before).

    • ummm, monitors ARE for listening to music through!monospaced1/7
      You know what I mean. All speakers color the sound to some degree to make it sound better...Jnr_Madison2/7
      ..where as studio monitors do this the least.Jnr_Madison3/7
      Monitors are also designed for near field listening.Jnr_Madison4/7
      I know. I use five Alesis monitors in my home theater setup (and for listening to music). Flat response FTW!monospaced5/7
      Yeah, I do something similar, I was just saying in case he wasn't sure.Jnr_Madison6/7
      Flat response ftw. indeed.Jnr_Madison7/7

    You can buy an adapter that splits a minijack (stereo/headphones port on the AirPort) into RCA L and R channels making them easy to hook up. And, although these are studio monitors, they will sound great without studio quality equipment.

    These seem to be "monitors for civillians". I'm sick of satellite setups which sound impressive but mid-range and instruments residing in it I remember from my teens are gone.

    • these maudio monitors are pretty damn good, manmonospaced

    Powered monitors still require decent EQ. Otherwise they'll just sound flat.

    • that's not necessarily true
      flat response is ideal, but I doubt you know what that is
      monospaced1/6
      anyways, iTunes lets you mess with the EQmonospaced2/6
      i know exactly what that is. flat is fine a a good room, and ideal for mixing. otherwise u must tweak.ItTango3/6
      btw: my first monitors were m-audio. i'm currently using a pair of mackies.ItTango4/6
      I prefer to tweak vs. live with speakers that color the sound.monospaced5/6
      alright, we're all amateur audiophilesmonospaced6/6
